"BackPack Program" Feeds Our Hungriest Students

The program provides backpacks filled with food that is child-friendly, shelf-stable, and easily-consumed. Bags are packed each week by school staff and discreetly distributed to participating children every Friday afternoon.

Since Ichabod Crane’s "BackPack Program" is funded entirely by local donations, the success of the program depends on fundraising efforts. To see how you can help support the BackPack Program in our schools, view the flyer here. All donations are tax deductible.

Ichabod Crane Primary School has been involved in the program since 2011 and is coordinated there by Laura Sarno. Questions about the program? Contact her at laurasarno718@gmail.com or 892-2172.
