Look what we are doing in writing!

  My goal is to foster a love of writing and self expression. 

We will have a writing workshop model in the classroom.  We will write in our journals daily by either making pictures to label or starting short stories.  We will follow steps in the workshop that include drafting, editing, revising, and publishing our writing piece.  Each student will have a chance to conference with me on their writing piece.  

We will work on mechanics and grammar daily by writing a "Sentence of the Day" and completing various activities that help identify mistakes.

Mostly, our writing will be creative and fun for all!  I hope the children leave my classroom with the ability to express themselves in writing in a fun and positive way.
