Results of Water Testing Reported to Board of Education & Shared with Parents

(Sept. 13, 2016) In a precautionary, proactive measure, the Ichabod Crane Central School District recently conducted water testing, not only for lead but also for copper. Approximately 275 water sources from every building were tested and the District received the results of the test in mid-August. At the Sept. 6 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent George Zini reported the results of the tests which did show some water sources with elevated levels of lead or copper within the buildings. The District has taken steps to address these sources to ensure that water is safe for consumption. Precautions will remain in effect until each identified area is remediated and retested.

"The safety of our students and staff has always been a priority," said Mr. Zini. "I can assure you that the District will take the necessary steps to ensure that everyone has safe drinking water available to them." Learn More
