Weeks 1-2 Clothing Management
How can we save money and the environment by repairing or re-purposing clothing and other textiles?
Students will learn to sew by hand to replace buttons.
Students will use multiple sewing resources and store appropriately.
Students will train each other after mastering various sewing skills.
When you've learned how to operate the sewing machine safely, you will receive a driver's license.
Finally, you're ready to add thread and fabric to construct a useful item to donate to a worthy charity, use at home or in school or give to someone special.
How Can I be Fit?
Students will use choosemyplate.gov to assess their food & drink choices for nutritional value.
Students will use reliable internet resources to plan & analyze menus for nutritional value.

*Bring in a Nutrition Facts & Ingredient List from a food you eat frequently.
We will learn
and how to keep food logs. We'll use our results to analyze whether we are deficient in nutrients.
