Career Choices

Planning for a career requires exploring the different careers available.

Students in seminar use www.careercruising.com to take a career interest inventory, research the top 10 career matches and present their chosen career of interest to their class.  Matching career with interests is a very important part of the freshman seminar program.

Our high school counselors will help students focus on their intended career and make sure they have the classes they need to succeed.

                              Meet & Greet Your Counselor Day 


The counselors visit the seminar classes each year. They talk to the students in an informal setting getting to know the students on a more personal level. These visits are not intended for class selection but to help the students and counselors develop a closer relationship. It is expected that students will have the same counselor during their four years of high school. Careers are discussed in a general sense at this time. 

Students play "Freshman Seminar Jeopardy" with the counselors as a way to test their knowledge of the high school.  Categories include The Building, VIPs, Graduation requirements, Sports and Clubs, and Miscellaneous.

Counselors are assigned to freshmen students by the first letter of their last name as follows

A-G Ms.Donohue                 H-P Ms. DeAloe                Q-Z Mrs. Evans
