Freshman SeminarDaily Puzzles |
|
Daily PuzzlesStudents are encouraged to get to class on time with daily puzzles. These puzzles became part of the seminar program based on the relationship of the benefits of solving puzzles to making better choices, building self-confidence and having an academic edge. Each puzzle is solved in a different way. Once the students learn all the various alternatives, puzzle solving becomes easy. It is a fun way to start the class.Examples: too to II 2 two (no two alike)na fish na fish(tuna fish)lang4uage (foreign language)Students are also expected to complete a "do now" activity on the board before class. After getting their folders from the cabinet, they are to answer the 2 or 3 questions pertaining to the previous class. This keeps everyone up to speed on seminar activities.
