Word Study
This year, we are using the Words Their Way spelling program. This program is designed to help students notice spelling and sound patterns, which will then transfer to spelling in their everyday lives.
Weekly homework will be completed in Word Study Notebooks:
Monday: sort words
Tuesday: sort words again, notice sound and spelling
patterns (at least 3 sentences)
Wednesday: ABC order in categories
Thursday: Blind Sort
Word Study Assessments will be administered each Friday.
Students receive a new word list each Monday.
