May Riders of the Month


(August 2015) Every month, Ichabod Crane High School honors students who demonstrate our school district’s mission and community values. These students have been recognized by high school teachers and staff for exemplifying what it means to be an Ichabod Crane Rider. They exhibit all-around good character, morals and demonstrate Rider values and Rider pride in the classroom, in sports, arts, music, volunteering in the Pre-K classroom and in the community.

We are pleased to announce the following students as Riders of the Month for the month of May:

GRADE 9

Ivan GomezIvan Gomez

Ivan is incredibly focussed and motivated. He leads by example and is willing to take on extra assignments.
Ivan helps other students to perform better in class as well as on the wrestling team.
Ivan does not shy away from challenge puts forth great effort to achieve.

 

Kristen BertrandKristen Bertrand
Kristen is a High Honor Roll student that is hard-working, kind to her classmates and is willing to help others whenever needed.
Kristen is respectful of her peers and teachers. She is cooperative and is always willing to assist.
Kristen is kind, friendly and ambitious.

 

 


GRADE 10

Toby LausterToby Lauster
Toby is a conscientious young man who is very kind to others.
Toby is very respectful and hard working. This year Toby has excelled in classes that he due to dedication and tremendous effort and determination to succeed.
Outside of school, Toby works at a local establishment and carries his positive nature with him whenever he interacts with others. Toby is actively involved in his community as well.

 

 

 

Maria Carlucci and Meredith RichardsMeredith Richards
Meredith is active with her class, sports and many school activities. Meredith has proven that she can balance her great involvement in school, sports and extracurricular activities with academic success.
Meredith is kind, compassionate and patient with classmates, faculty and family. She is a friendly face that does not shy away from a challenge. In fact, when facing challenges she maintains a positive attitude and works hard to reach her goals.
Meredith consistently demonstrates pride in her school, community and family.

 

 


GRADE 11

Dan YankowksiDaniel Yankowski
Dan is a very polite individual who demonstrates respect, kindness and a friendly attitude to classmates and teachers alike.
In class he is a very hard working student that is ambitious and responsible. When working with peers, Dan is very polite and cooperative.
Dan is an excellent athlete and has demonstrated that he can balance involvement in sports, school and school activities with ease.

 

 

 

Maria Carlucci (see photo above with Meredith Richards)
Maria is a great all-around person who seems to impact others in a positive manner with her drive and motivation.
Maria is involved with soccer and in the Fall and even coached one of the Town of Kinderhook youth soccer teams on Saturdays. She is hard working and dedicated.
Maria always has a smile on her face when she comes to class and is able to get along with all of her classmates. She is always striving to do better regardless of the grades that she receives. At the same time, she seems to truly enjoy being in school learning and spending time with her peers.

GRADE 12

Miles DijanMiles Dijan
Miles is a leader in the school community in the way he approaches academics, extracurricular activities, and his relationships with his peers as well as adults.
Over the years Miles has proven to be dedicated to his academics and social relationships and he continues to demonstrate maturity as well as a strong work ethic and commitment to his school and community.
Miles truly cares about others and is willing to go out of his way to help anyone in need.

 

 

Samantha HeslerSamantha Hesler
Samantha is an individual that understands that all of our actions affect others in various ways and she tries very hard to be sure that he actions influence others in a positive manner. Samantha is able to see the bigger picture in life and guides herself accordingly.
Samantha is actively involved in school and the community. She has dedicated a lot of her time to extracurricular activities that range from Acting Troupe, sports, chorale, a class officer and even as a member of the ICC Board of Education.
Samantha is positive, kind and encouraging both to her classmates, faculty as well as her family. Samantha cares about her world and tries hard to change it for the better.
