What is a policy?
A policy is a statement that establishes standards and/or objectives to be attained by the district.
What is the function of school board policies?
Policies are the means by which a school board leads and governs its school district. Policies form the bylaws and rules for the governance of the district and serve as the standards to which the board, administration and students are held accountable.

PLEASE NOTE: Change in the Board of Education Attendance Policy -
The District has suspended the attendance incentive awards for the 2009-2010 school year. The decision was based upon recommendations from the New York State Education Department and the Department of Health, and as part of a plan to reduce the spread of the H1N1 virus. Although many students work diligently to achieve these awards, the District does not want to encourage children to attend school when they are sick.
