Ichabod Crane Summer School Program - 2009

The Summer Program will be located at Ichabod Crane High School, 2910 Route 9, Valatie, NY 12184

REGISTRATION
Registration will be held in the Ichabod Crane High School Library. For both district and non-district residents, registration will be held on Wed., July 1 and Thurs. July 2 from 9 am to Noon. Registration must be done in person.

Non-District Student Registration
Non-district students wishing to enroll in Ichabod Crane Summer School must present the following at the time of registration:
A completed 'Non-district Registration Form' must be signed by the appropriate school officials.

STUDENT TUITION AND FEES
All non-residents must pay tuition of $275 per course taken, subject to Board of Education final approval. All tuition must be paid at the time of registration. Checks should be payable to Ichabod Crane Central School District.

SUMMER SCHOOL CLASS TIMES
Class Period 1 - 7:30 to 9:45 am
Class Period 2 - 9:53 am to 12:08 pm
Driver Education classes will run from 7 am to 1 pm daily

ATTENDANCE POLICY
There is a direct connection between success in summer school and attendance. Students should plan on attending class each day, arriving on time and being an active participant in each class. Each class will incorporate a participation grade that will be based upon daily attendance and positive classroom participation.

LAB REQUIREMENTS
All students taking the Regents Examination in Physical Setting/Earth Science must take the performance test each time they take the written examination. Only the performance test score earned by the student in the weeks immediately preceding the written examination may be used to determine the student’s final examination score for this Regents Examination. This change in procedure with respect to students retaking this examination will ensure that every student’s examination score is based on the full composite of the student’s demonstration of knowledge, skills, and abilities at the time the written test is taken.

CLASS LOAD
Students may take up to two subjects. Students may only register for a remedial course if they have already taken the course during the regular school year and have attained a minimum average of 50.

DRESS CODE
Students are required to dress in a safe and non-provocative manner as during the regular school year.

REGENTS EXAMINATIONS
New York State Regents and RCT Exams will be offered on:

Wed., Aug. 12, Thurs., Aug. 13, and Fri., Aug. 14, 2009

WALK-IN REGENTS EXAMS
Students who are registered and attend Ichabod Crane High School during the school year may register for and take the Regents exam, if offered. Registration occurs at the Summer School office between 8 am and 1 pm Monday through Thursday until July 24, 2009. Positive identification must also be presented at registration and when the exam is taken. There is a $50 fee per exam for walk-in non-district students.

LIBRARY
Library facilities and a librarian will be available during the Summer School hours for teacher-assigned work.

SMOKING
Smoking is strictly forbidden at any time during Summer School. Students who choose to smoke on campus may be dismissed from Summer School.
