“Assess for Success”: NYS 3-8 Assessments

Did you know we’re striving to form a partnership with parents to improve student achievement? We want parents to have accurate information regarding the NYS 3-8 assessments and be able to make an informed decision for their child(ren).

We’ve created ” Assess for Success”,” a parent and school district committee dedicated to informing Ichabod Crane families about the benefits of taking the NYS 3-8 assessments.

This section will be continually updated as we generate new documents, flyers, presentations, etc.

Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), new state regulations emphasize the importance of New York State (NYS) assessments and the impact of participation rates on a district’s performance rating. Schools that do not reach a participation rate of 95% have their performance rating significantly impacted and potentially face additional NYS guidelines and restrictions.
