Congratulations to Michael Vecellio and Erin Curry! These two high school students are representing Ichabod Crane this week (December 5-8) at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Festival in Rochester, NY.
Erin and Michael put in a lot of hard work getting to this point: all students participating in the Festival must audition a level six solo and sight-read a short musical passage for a NYSSMA All-State adjudicator. Only the highest-scoring students (typically a score of 100) in New York State are selected to perform and participate in the Conference All-State Music Ensemble.
Erin and Michael will go through several days of intensive choral rehearsals with prestigious conductors from across the country, culminating in a showcase concert this weekend at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
We’re so proud of Michael & Erin for achieving this goal and thank all the teachers who helped them along the way.
