We’re pleased to share that Ichabod Crane High School Senior, Trevor Wolfe, was recently honored for winning the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen’s Scholarship Contest Program in Columbia County. The DAR Program is sponsored in Columbia County by the Hendrick Hudson DAR Chapter.
The program honors a single outstanding senior class member who demonstrates qualities of a good citizen and gives the student an opportunity to participate in the scholarship program at state and national levels. Competing students are nominated by their home school district and write an essay centered on how they try to manifest the qualities of a good citizen. This year’s essay question was: “You are the nation’s leader of tomorrow. How would you energize America’s youth to fully engage as effective citizens and why is that important?”
Trevor was honored for his essay and achievement on December 15 at the DAR Hendrick Hudson Chapter House in Hudson, NY. Since Trevor was the selected candidate for the regional area, he now goes on to the state level competition. Wish him luck!
