The Ichabod Crane Board of Education has appointed Mr. Jason Thomson as the next District Superintendent of Schools. The Board officially appointed Mr. Thomson at a special board meeting in the High School Library on Wednesday, December 18.

Mr. Thomson and his family were in attendance at the meeting to accept his official appointment in person. They wasted no time becoming better acquainted with the district community by attending the annual High School Winter Concert immediately following the board meeting.

Mr. Thomson will succeed current Interim District Superintendent, Lee Bordick, and begin his role in February 2020. Mr. Bordick has served as Interim Superintendent since July 2019 and will continue leading the district until Mr. Thomson’s official start date.

Mr. Thomson comes to Ichabod Crane after serving as Superintendent of Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi, NY for the past nine years. He began his education career as a High School Special Education Teacher and Middle School Health Educator Teacher. He has a wide range of school administrative experience, serving as Director of Special Education, Building Principal and Vice-Principal during his career.

Thanks go to the Board for their many hours planning, meeting and interviewing during the search process. Further thanks go to the district stakeholders, students and community members who participated in this process.
