“This Award recognizes students from the greater Albany region who have a passion for leadership and noteworthy leadership experiences. Applicants must be high school seniors, scheduled to graduate in the spring semester of 2020 and attending a high school in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, or Washington Counties. Competitive applicants fall in the upper quarter of the University at Albany’s entering class (93%+ high school grade point average / SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 630+; SAT Math: 630+).”
As a finalist, Kristian was already guaranteed a minimum of a four-year $1,000/year scholarship. However, Kristjan went on to be 1 of only 20 selected winners of a 4-year $3,000/year scholarship, in addition to a Presidential Scholar Award he had already won.
