The following is an important message to the Ichabod Crane community from District Superintendent of Schools, Jason D. Thomson. This message was emailed to all Ichabod Crane parents/caregivers on the evening of May 20, 2020.

Dear Ichabod Crane families,
I hope this message finds everyone healthy and safe.
I’m writing this evening to let you know I recently notified our board of education that I will be resigning from my position as superintendent, effective June 30, 2020.
Please know I did not come to this decision lightly and I have made it for family health and personal reasons. My family is still living in Delhi, NY and I need to be present for them right now during these uncertain and challenging times. I will, of course, continue my commitment to Ichabod Crane through the end of June.
Even though my time as your superintendent was brief, I sincerely enjoyed working with your students and being part of this amazing school community. Your commitment and dedication to the students of Ichabod Crane has impressed me so much, especially during these last few unprecedented months.
I know I’ll be leaving you in good hands with Ichabod’s strong administrative team that I’m proud to have had this opportunity to work with. While we cannot fully know what the next few months will bring, I’m confident they will do what is best for our students and safely guide Ichabod through its next phase.
I thank you so much for welcoming me into the Rider family and I wish you all the very best.
Respectfully yours,
Mr. Jason D. Thomson
