On September 24 we accepted a collective donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) from Fidelis Care, United Way and Greene Medical Arts Pharmacy. The organizational representatives below all stopped by to drop off the donation in person to District Superintendent, Suzanne Guntlow, High School Principal, Craig Shull, and High School TA, Robin Sullivan (Ms. Sullivan also helped facilitate the donation drop off). The sizable donation included face masks, hand sanitizers, antibacterial wipes and even some backpacks.

On hand to drop off the donation were:

  • Peter Gannon (United Way)
  • Katie Nelson (United Way)
  • Deb LaDue (Fidelis Care)
  • Chris White (Fidelis Care)
  • Srinivas Velesetty (Greene Medical Arts Pharmacy)

The donation is part of a recent collective initiative by the organizations to distribute PPE items to school districts throughout Columbia and Greene Counties. Our district will now distribute the PPE items (and backpacks) to the students in the schools who need them the most.

This is not the first show of support toward the district from some of these organizations. Fidelis Cares is also a Regional Food Bank Supporter for Ichabod Crane’s Backpack Programs and United Way was a grant supporter through the Regional Food Bank of the district’s recent summer food program.
