This past summer we asked you to decide if your students would return in person or learn fully remotely from home for the 1st Quarter of the 20-21 school year. This is to notify you that the 1st Quarter is ending on Friday, November 13 and we are opening up a window of opportunity for you to change your student’s current learning program.
You now have an opportunity to switch your student’s learning program for the remainder of the school year. You can change your student from full remote learning to in-person learning under our current plan or vice versa.
All families who wish to change their student’s current learning program must directly contact their school principal to notify them of the request ASAP. The deadline for requesting this change is Friday, October 23. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning program, no further action is required.
Please think carefully about your decision as this will be the FINAL opportunity to switch your student’s learning program for the remainder of the 20-21 school year. Requested changes in your student’s learning program after October 23 can NOT be guaranteed and will only be considered on a case by case basis with the building principal’s and assistant superintendent’s approval.
We understand this is a big decision, but it is necessary to ensure that all students have the best and safest learning experience for the remainder of the year. Changes to remote-only and in-person groups after the October 23 deadline would have negative impacts on both academic programming and scheduling. Class, teacher, and room assignments all depend on having an accurate count of students signed up for in-person and full remote learning. Therefore, any changes in those numbers after the deadline will have a ripple effect and impact your student’s school as a whole.
It is important to note, with the pandemic still ongoing there are safety considerations to keep in mind. Properly arranging classrooms and other school spaces to comply with necessary safety protocols requires an accurate count of students and staff physically in the schools. Again, any changes in those numbers after October 23 will affect planning for the school as a whole.
To change your student’s learning program, please contact the appropriate school principal below by October 23:
