The following message was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Wednesday, October 28. Please carefully review this information as it contains important details about student and staff schedules for Thursday, October 29

Dear Parents, Guardians & Staff,

At this time we are currently awaiting additional COVID-19 testing results from the Department of Health (DOH) for the close contacts of the recent positive case at the Primary School. While we had hoped to have these results back today, the Department of Health has indicated it may not be until tomorrow or later this evening.  At this time we have decided to err on the side of caution and continue with the current plan for Thursday, October 29, 2020.

Primary School: The Primary School will remain open for K-3 students for the remainder of the week. Other than the one classroom of students, bus contacts and some staff members currently under quarantine at home, all K-3 in-person students may continue coming into school.

Middle and High SchoolWe are awaiting COVID-19 test results for several MS and HS students, therefore we are not reopening those buildings for in-person students for Thursday, October 29. All Grade 4-12 students will continue learning remotely at home tomorrow.

Staff & Faculty: All Ichabod Crane staff and faculty may report to their buildings for work unless they are currently placed under quarantine

We feel this is the best course of action at this time in order to provide time for families and staff to plan.  Our priority remains the health and safety of all students and staff. Additional information will be shared as soon as possible regarding plans for Friday, October 30.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through these challenges together.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Guntlow
Superintendent
