The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Monday, November 9.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good afternoon,

Today, the Ichabod Crane Central School District was notified and subsequently confirmed with the Columbia County Department of Health that a Primary School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus on Friday, November 6th. At this time we have identified and notified all staff members and families whose students had close contact with the positive case within our building and on the school bus. All contacts to the positive case have been advised of the mandatory quarantine period.

If you were not contacted, there is no further action needed on your part.

In the event that any further developments occur or if additional information regarding this matter becomes available, the school community will be advised immediately. The health, safety, and well-being of our staff and students remain our top priority. We continue to follow state and local guidance to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect your health. Please remember to also follow all health and safety guidelines when outside of school so together we can protect one another and keep our school open.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time.
