The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Saturday, November 21. Please carefully review this information as it contains important details about High School student schedules for the remainder of November.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good evening,  November 21, 2020

Today, the Ichabod Crane Central School District was informed by the Columbia County Department of Health that a High School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus on Friday, November 13th. We have now identified and contacted all staff members and families whose students had close contact with the positive case within our building and on the school bus. All contacts to the positive case have been advised of the mandatory quarantine period.

If you were not contacted, there is no further action needed on your part.

Due to the number of staff quarantined, the High School only will be pivoting to full remote learning for Monday, November 23rd, Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday. November 25th. The High School will be running on its remote schedule.  The HS remote schedule will be emailed to all students. We anticipate the High School reopening for in-person learning on Monday, November 30th and will operate on a hybrid schedule with Group A students attending in-person.

High School students who attend Questar III CTE Programs, who are not quarantined, will be permitted to attend in-person.  These students may ride the bus to school and will be given rides home from Questar. Transportation will be provided as normal for all out of district bus runs including New Visions.

In the event that there are any further developments or if additional information regarding this matter becomes available, the school community will be informed as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership in keeping our community as safe as possible.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Guntlow
