Updated: (December 11, 2020) – NYSPHSAA has announced the cancelation of Winter NYS Championships and the indefinite postponement of High Risk athletics. Low/moderate risk sports are still permitted and can begin on December 14, 2020.

The Section 2 Executive Committee of NYSPHSAA stated on November 13 that Low/Moderate Risk Winter Sports can begin on December 14, 2020.
Additionally, NYSPHSAA stated on November 17 that High Risk Winter Sports can begin on January 4, 2021.
- Low/Moderate Risk Winter Sports include bowling, gymnastics, indoor track & field, skiing and swimming & diving.

- High Risk Winter Sports include basketball, competitive cheer, ice hockey and wrestling.
