The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Sunday, December 13. Please carefully review this information as it contains important details about High School student schedules for Monday, December 14.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good evening,

This evening the Ichabod Crane Central School District was informed that a High School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus on Monday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 8th. We have now identified and contacted via email all staff members and families whose students came in close contact with the positive case while on campus. Transportation was not affected by this case.

If you were not contacted through a separate email, there is no further action needed on your part.

Due to the number of staff quarantined, the High School only will be pivoting to full remote learning for Monday, December 14th. Tomorrow we will assess our ability to reopen for in-person learning depending upon the availability of substitute staff. The High School will be running on the full remote schedule on Monday, December 14. The schedule will be emailed to all students.

High School students who attend Questar III CTE Programs and out of district programs including New Visions may continue to attend in-person and transportation will be provided as normal.

Additional information regarding the High School plan for the rest of the week will be provided tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership in keeping our community as safe as possible.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Guntlow
Superintendent
Ichabod Crane Central School District
