The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on the afternoon of Monday, December 14. Please carefully review this information as it contains important details about Ichabod Crane High School remaining on a full remote learning schedule through the Holiday Recess.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good afternoon,

Early this morning the Ichabod Crane Central School District was informed that there is an additional student in the High School who has tested positive for COVID-19. They were last on campus on Monday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 8th. At this time we have contacted all staff members and families whose students came in close contact with this most recent positive case while on campus. Transportation was not affected by this case.

If you have not already been contacted today through a separate email and/or phone call, there is no further action needed on your part.

Since the combination of the two positive cases in the building requires a large number of staff and students to quarantine, the High School only will operate on a full remote learning schedule through the Holiday Recess (December 24 – January 3). The High School is operating on its full remote schedule today due to the COVID case identified last evening and will continue to do so through December 23.

High School students who attend Questar III CTE Programs and out of district programs including New Visions may continue to attend in-person and transportation will be provided as normal as long as they have not been contacted and advised to quarantine.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued partnership in keeping our community as safe as possible during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Guntlow
Superintendent
Ichabod Crane Central School District
