Primary School Giving Tree

Primary School Giving Tree

Now in its 9th year, the Ichabod Crane Primary School Holiday Giving Tree was a huge success! This annual initiative not only helps Primary School families enjoy a merrier holiday season but has the added benefit of teaching Ichabod’s youngest students about the importance of generosity and giving to others. The PS Giving Tree “elves” have been working hard all season long in collaboration with community organizations and every year the school community never fails to touch our hearts with their own generosity. Special thanks for the gifts you see pictured to the left go to JEM Woodworking, Niverville United Methodist Church, Northern Columbia Lion’s Club and St. Lukes Lutheran Church.

To the right, you can see donations collected at the New York State Police Troop K of Livingston’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive. Troop K would like to offer special thanks to Ed Herrington, Inc for their very generous donation of toys this year. All the donations you see pictured also helped supplement the PS Holiday Giving Tree.

Finally, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the inaugural First Responders Children’s Foundation Toy Express Program to deliver donated toys to children of Columbia County. Sheriff Bartlett received two pallets of American Girl Dolls and sporting equipment that he arranged for Columbia County School Resource Officers to divide up between their respective school districts. All these donations (pictured below) will also supplement the PS Holiday Giving Tree.

This year the First Responders Children’s Foundation Toy Express will deliver more than 150,000 toys to children in communities and supports toy drives. This initiative is led by first responders who are giving back to their local communities and is made possible through generous support from CSX, Mattel, American Girl, Jakks Pacific, Moves that Matter and Total Quality Logistics.
