8th-grade FACS/CTE students (Family/Consumer Sciences & Career Technical Education) recently completed projects that gave them opportunities for practicing communication skills while also learning more about STEM careers (Science, Technology, Education & Math). During this annual project, FACS teacher Ms. Kuhn has the 8th graders conduct personal interviews with professionals in STEM career fields that interest them. Students came up with all their own questions and interviewed career professionals both in and outside the classroom.

This year professional participants who spoke with the classes included architect Sarah Sayers who held a virtual Q&A about her career and James Antalek, who gave a virtual presentation on his career as an engineer for General Electric. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to work with our 8th-grade FACS students on this project.
