The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Friday, January 8.
All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.
Good Afternoon,
This morning the Ichabod Crane Central School District was informed that a High School student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus on Monday, January 4. At this time, we have identified and contacted all staff members and families whose students came in close contact with the positive case while on campus. Transportation was not affected by this case and there was no impact on the Primary School or Middle School.
Other than direct contacts who have been advised of their mandatory quarantine period, we plan to resume classes at the High School on our normal hybrid schedule on Monday, January 11.
If you were not already contacted directly via phone or email, your child was not a close contact and there is no further action needed on your part.
At home, please continue carefully screening your children in the morning before sending them into school and always err on the side of caution. If they are showing even mild COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them home.
Thank you as always for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these challenges together.
Suzanne Guntlow
