All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.
We are ready and excited to re-open our doors for our students in grades 6-12 for hybrid learning starting on Monday, January 25th. Looking ahead, I wanted to share a few important updates and reminders for Ichabod Crane K-12 families & staff.
COVID-19 District Update & Safety Protocols
Since the last district wide COVID-19 update we were informed of three positive cases that had a direct impact on the District in the Primary School on the evening of Friday, January 15. As a result, 61 students shifted to full remote learning due to quarantine. These recent cases are a reminder to us all not to let our guards down. Please remember students and staff should not attend school:
-While Awaiting COVID-19 Test Results
-If a Symptomatic Member of the Household is Awaiting Test Results
-If Displaying Even Mild Symptoms Consistent with COVID-19
The symptoms of COVID-19 vary from person to person. Please review the link as it is important to be familiar with all symptoms so you can carefully screen yourself or your student before coming to school each day. It is crucial to stay home if anyone in your household is displaying COVID-like symptoms or if anyone in your household is awaiting COVID-19 test results. If someone in your household is symptomatic, please remain home and contact the school nurse so they can assess if you or the district must take any follow-up steps (ex. contact tracing, quarantine notifications, testing, etc).
While we are happy that the vaccine distribution is now underway, we cannot stress enough the importance of remaining vigilant and closely following safety protocols to protect everyone in our school community.
