The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Friday, January 29.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good Afternoon,

Today we were informed that a staff member in the Primary School’s Questar III BOCES Pre-K classroom has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time, the Pre-K program has shifted to full remote learning through February 1.

The Pre-K staff and students are self-contained within the building and have little contact with anyone outside their classroom. Questar III has completed all contact tracing and determined there was no additional impact to any other staff or students in the Primary School other than those enrolled in the Pre-K program.  If you were not contacted there is no need for any further action on your part. All other students and staff may continue to report to the building as planned.

At home, please continue carefully screening your children in the morning before sending them into school and always err on the side of caution. If they are showing even mild COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them home.

Thank you as always for your cooperation and understanding. Stay warm and enjoy your weekend.
