Residents of the Ichabod Crane Central School District approved a $43,878,924 budget for the 2021-2022 school year by a vote of 874 (yes) to 402 (no).
Residents also accepted a proposition to purchase four (4) additional school buses at a cost of $430,333 by a vote of 842 (yes) to 435 (no).
This is a $ $1,495,944 (or 3.5%) increase from the 2020-2021 budget and the estimated tax levy increase is 2.95%, which is below the allowable tax levy limit set by New York State.
Residents also elected Jared Widjeskog, Jennifer Allard and Anne Schaefer to the Board of Education. Each seat on the board is for a 3-year term. The terms for Mr. Widjeskog and Ms. Allard begin on May 19, 2021, while Ms. Schaefer’s term begins on July 1, 2021.
