Each year the ICHS Interact Club does an event called “Trick or Treat for Hunger”. The week before Halloween Interact Club members drop off a bag with a flyer to homes in neighborhoods within our district explaining the food drive. On Halloween night, the members collect the bags filled with donated nonperishable food items. This year was our most successful event to date. We collected 903 food items that were donated to Ichabod Closet’s and Food Pantry run by Robin Sullivan. The items are then split up between the Teen Weekend Meal Program and other food banks in our local area to support our district’s students and families with food insecurities. This event would have not been possible without the generosity of our community members. The Interact Club would like to thank everyone who donated and/or helped make the “Trick-or-Treat For Hunger” such a huge success.
