I wish to thank Miss Yeats for making English and literature mean more than words on a page. Your lesson plans and activities really showed me the impact of the written word. Thanks to you, I have been able to find a love of classical and contemporary literature. I am now able to analyze pieces and see what they have to offer.
I want to thank Mr. Miller for kindness and passion towards teaching his students. Although Physics will never be fun in my eyes, I appreciate all you have done to teach us. I wish to thank Mr. Cangemi for his hard work in teaching Calculus. Although I was nervous for the AP exam countless times, I felt sufficiently prepared when the exam was in front of me. Although his lessons may be overwhelming at times, Mr. Cangemi worked to make it easier to understand and explained the process if someone asked.
I want to say thank you to Mrs. Duffek for her work in making Spanish enjoyable. She has always been so kind to her students and she works to provide her students with all the tools necessary to succeed. Without her trust in me, I wouldn’t have been able to take both Spanish and French my Senior year. It was her trust in me to be on top of the ball, that I was able to succeed in both languages.
I want to thank Mrs. Abrams for her kindness and help with pushing me to truly critique my art. She helped me learn and enjoy creating art digitally. She is always so approachable and willing to provide insight.

She was also a contributing writer on the school newspaper and has acted as an amateur photographer for school events. Shoutout to teachers and staff:
Olivia would like to thank Mr. Goold and Mr. Sanger for inspiring her interest in and passion for history and culture, as well as challenging her to develop her critical thinking. Even now, the sound of the slamming of the “cultural diffusion” sword and Mr. Sanger’s constant stream of jokes are ringing through her ears. Mrs. Goold and Ms. Yeats continued to foster her love of writing and always kept class conversations engaging and intriguing, especially when discussing questionable actions in The Crucible or classmate/ family dynamics in Hamlet. She is also incredibly grateful for Mrs. Grizzaffi for instilling faith in her math abilities and decoding concepts which had always befuddled her.
Even though physics is not her forte, she appreciates all of the extra effort and consideration that Mr. Miller puts into his classes to ensure his students understand and feel supported. Olivia would also like to thank Mr. Stafiej for his encouragement of her French and helping her prepare for her Seal of Biliteracy presentation. Merci pour votre aide!
She is especially grateful to Ms. Dwileski and Ms. Two-Axe for always being compassionate and supportive, as well as keeping her senior year interesting so she was not just sitting alone in a study hall. She thanks Ms. Dwileski for introducing her to her love of photography and helping her to pursue it through all of her projects while creating a unique independent study. She is so thankful for Ms. Two-Axe’s guidance through the Seal of Biliteracy process and dedication to always find any book or resource that anyone may want, in addition to letting her steal caramels from her jar of “poison.” Olivia would also like to thank Ms. Yearwood for answering all of her questions about anything from scheduling to college admissions, and Mr. Shull for his dedication to making the school an assuring environment.

Future Plans:
Olivia will be attending Middlebury College for a major in American Studies, hoping to emphasize writing and rhetoric.

School Participation –  Clubs, Sports, Activities:
Outside of class, Abbey has enjoyed her time in the music and art programs. Joining Marching Band was a highlight of Senior Year and a group she wishes she had joined sooner.  Participating in All County Band in MS and HS was always a fun opportunity to meet new people.  Art was a huge stress reliever during the pandemic and it was exciting to have a bowl she crafted in Ceramics be selected for a juried art show.

Achievements –  Awards, Honors, Recognitions:
Never having missed a marking period on the High Honor Roll, Abbey was also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council.

Shoutout to teachers and staff:
Ever since Middle School, Mrs. Edwards has helped me become the best version of myself and has taught me how to be confident in my abilities.  Her constant motivation even showed me that I could perform a solo!  The music program allowed me to go out of my comfort zone and really shine.  Mrs. Edwards’ radiant personality could light up a whole room and she always makes me smile too.  I’ll never forget all of the amazing experiences you have given me the opportunity to participate in!
Mrs. Konkle has been my rock.  During the pandemic, any time I had an issue in school, or just life in general, she would send messages to check up on me and lend a helping hand.  I’ll miss her waves in the hallway and there aren’t enough thank you’s for all of the wonderful lessons she has taught me and the encouragement she gave me that got me through the past few years.  I just wouldn’t be where I am today without her!
Mrs. Barford has helped me plan my life after high school and always encouraged me to reach far for my goals.  She not only taught life lessons in the classroom, but she was always there to answer questions and be a friendly face and a listening ear for all my years of high school.  I look forward to seeing her every day and will miss all of her ‘good mornings’ next year.
