📚✨ Last week, Ichabod Crane Primary School hosted a joyful evening dedicated to celebrating our young writers and the power of storytelling. The event featured two visiting authors — Matthew McElligott (Even Aliens Need Snacks, Benjamin Franklinstein Lives!) and Carin Berger (The Little Yellow Leaf, In the Night Garden) — who were warmly welcomed by students, families and staff.
In preparation for the evening, students in grades K–3 created heartfelt letters and vibrant posters to greet the authors. Their creativity was on full display throughout the hallways, where families enjoyed exploring the impressive student work.
The gymnasium buzzed with excitement as attendees had the opportunity to meet the authors, purchase books and get them signed. Many titles even sold out! For those who placed orders for signed copies during the event, deliveries are expected to arrive next week.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this special night a success. It was a wonderful celebration of reading, writing and creativity at Ichabod Crane! 💙

📚✨ La semana pasada, la Escuela Primaria Ichabod Crane organizó una alegre velada dedicada a celebrar a nuestros jóvenes escritores y el poder de contar historias. El evento contó con la participación de dos autores visitantes — Matthew McElligott y Carin Berger — quienes fueron recibidos con mucho entusiasmo por estudiantes, familias y personal escolar.
Para prepararse para la noche, los estudiantes de los grados K–3 crearon cartas conmovedoras y carteles coloridos para dar la bienvenida a los autores. Su creatividad se mostró por todo el pasillo, donde las familias disfrutaron explorando el impresionante trabajo de los estudiantes.
El gimnasio se llenó de emoción mientras los asistentes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer a los autores, comprar libros y conseguir firmas. ¡Muchos tÃtulos incluso se agotaron! Para quienes hicieron pedidos de copias firmadas durante el evento, se espera que lleguen la próxima semana.
