The Ichabod Crane Central School District has officially received nominating petitions for the upcoming Board of Education election. The following residents are running for the three available seats:
- Betsy Thorleifson
- Kelly Firmbach
- Christopher Scoville
Three vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Education. All seats are for three-year terms, commencing July 1, 2026 and expiring on June 30, 2029. The three Board members whose terms are expiring on June 30, 2026 are Max DiOrio, Kelly Firmbach and Christopher Scoville.

A “Meet the Candidates Night” will be hosted by the Participatory Government Class in the High School Library and simultaneously streamed on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 6 p.m.
The district’s Annual Budget Hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026 at 7 p.m. in the High School Library. Detailed information is available on the district’s Budget webpage and will be included in the annual Budget Newsletter, which is mailed to all residents following the hearing.
The annual School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium.
In order to be eligible to vote, voters’ names must appear on the County Voter Registration List or the School District Listing.
