The Ichabod Crane CSD Arts and Humanities Fund was established in 2008 through the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. This endowed fund serves to enrich the experience in the arts and humanities for students and teachers/staff through the support of projects that promote educational excellence.
Students, teachers, administrators, parents/families and community members can apply for funding to support initiatives that enhance the arts and humanities experience at Ichabod Crane. These are programs that are above and beyond the core programs supported by state and local funds.
These grants have funded projects at Ichabod Crane including visiting artists, art department projects, field trips, coding and robotics. The awards range from $100 to $2,500.
Other projects eligible for funding include, but are not limited to, the following:
- New programs
- Extracurricular creative projects, in or outside the classroom
- Visiting speakers
- Professional learning resources
- Library resources
The arts and humanities are broadly defined and include all cultural and humanities disciplines.
