Rider Goals 2027

The following Board of Education goals were collaboratively developed in the summer of 2024. These goals will be in effect from 2024 through 2027. The administration, faculty and staff will use these goals to develop specific targets for each goal with supporting action plans on how to reach each target.

ICCSD Mission: The Ichabod Crane Central School District is dedicated to preparing students to become contributing members of society in an ever-changing world by valuing diversity; providing a safe environment; and promoting unique talents, a desire for life-long learning, a strong spirit of community, and Rider pride.

ICCSD Board of Education has the following key governance responsibilities:

  • Setting Direction for District Programs (mission, vision, core values)
  • Fiscal Stewardship
  • Monitoring District Performance
  • Engaging with Community Stakeholders
  • Establishing and Supporting Management Structures

Given these key responsibilities, the Ichabod Crane Central School District has identified the following goals as we look towards the future and advance our mission and vision for instructional programs across K-12:

Goal #1 – Realizing Student Potential
The Ichabod Crane Central School District is committed above all else to ensuring that all students reach their maximum potential, ensuring their readiness for their desired life pathway: college, career and/or adult life in the world beyond ICC. We will focus on meeting every child where they are, enhancing their educational experience by providing equal access to enhanced and expanded education and enrichment opportunities, and the lessons and skills needed to prepare every student for civic engagement.

Goal #2 – Technology and Instructional Tools for Teaching and Learning
The Ichabod Crane Central School District will provide the necessary technology and instructional resources, tools and training to all staff and students. We will provide guidance for all on using these tools responsibly to fully realize their potential and advance the ICCSD mission.

Goal #3 – Health, Safety and Belonging
The Ichabod Crane Central School District will collaborate with students, families, staff and community members to support the mental, physical and emotional well-being of all students. We will incorporate and prioritize family engagement in the school environment, creating a reciprocal relationship, to elevate student voices and celebrate student leadership.

Goal #4 – Communications and Community Engagement
The Ichabod Crane Central School District will reinforce and expand the use of existing communication tools and methods to advance the ICCSD mission. We will showcase the School District as the centerpiece of our community, capitalize on community outreach and engagement opportunities, forge partnerships to build upon our academic and extracurricular successes, attract top talent and new residents, and elevate the school community to the highest level within our region.
