Voting and Election Information

VOTER ELIGIBILITY
You are eligible to vote in Ichabod Crane Central School District’s Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Election, and other district elections, such as a Capital Project Referendum, if you are a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the vote.

VOTER REGISTRATION
You must be registered before you are permitted to vote. You are already registered if you have:

ICCSD district residents may register to vote with District Clerk Mindy Potts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the district’s Central Office. To vote in a district election, including the Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Election, as well as a Capital Project Referendum, registration must be completed at least five days prior.

VOTER LOCATION
For the Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Election, voting takes place each year in the Ichabod Crane High School Gym on the third Tuesday in May, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On December 16, 2025, eligible district residents can vote in the Capital Project Referendum. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School Gym.

ABSENTEE & EARLY MAIL VOTER BALLOTS
Any district resident who wishes to vote early, or who will be unable to vote in person, may request an absentee ballot or early mail voter ballot.

The District Clerk must receive completed absentee ballot and early mail ballot applications at least seven days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered in person to the District Clerk at the Ichabod Crane’s Central Office.
