During recent library time, Primary School students participated in the Hour of Code. It’s a series of activities demystifying code, making it accessible for young learners by showing anyone can learn the basics of coding and broadening participation in computer science.

The second graders visited the Code.org – a website where you can practice writing block code and the organizer of the annual Hour of Code initiative – while first graders used color codes to control mini-robots called Ozobots. In kindergarten and third grade library time they met Botley, the coding robot!

Librarian Ms. Moss reported that the students had fun working together to solve problems while gaining new skills. Way to go, students!
