On Tuesday, May 17, residents of the Ichabod Crane Central School District approved a $46,693,075 budget for the 2022-2023 school year by a vote of 1,155 (yes) to 597 (no).
Residents also accepted a proposition to purchase four (4) additional school buses at a cost of $443,926 by a vote of 1,182 (yes) to 560 (no). A student BOE member was approved 1,416 (yes) to 330 (no).
This is a $ $2,814,151 (or 6.4%) increase from the 2021-2022 budget and the estimated tax levy increase is 2.3%, which is below the allowable tax levy limit set by New York State.
Residents also elected Matthew Nelson, Meghan Lafferty-Brown and Elizabeth Phillips to the Board of Education. Candidate vote counts are below, in the order they appeared on the ballot:
