A big THANK YOU to MetzWood Insurance and Utica National Insurance for their recent $2,500 donation to Ichabod Crane’s BackPack Program. Our BackPack Program helps feed students on the weekends when school meals aren’t available. This year we’re also running a summer edition of the BackPack Program.
MetzWood employee and Ichabod Crane parent, Michael Van Allen, facilitated the generous donation feeling that this was the ideal time to support the program given the economic stress some are currently feeling due to the pandemic. Utica National allocated half the donation amount to MetzWood, who then matched that amount. Additionally, they also made a donation to a similar program in our neighboring district, Chatham Central School District.
These donations to the School Districts are part of an ongoing broader local support initiative for MetzWood, who’s empowered each of their employees to select local not for profit organizations to receive donations from the agency.
