The following message from Superintendent Guntlow was emailed to all Ichabod Crane families on Tuesday, March 23.

All previous school reopening news and COVID-19 updates can be found on the district’s Reopening Information page here.

Good Morning,

Late last evening we were informed that a Primary School student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus and rode district transportation on Friday, March 19.  As a result, one Primary School classroom and one bus route have been placed under mandatory quarantine.

We identified and contacted all staff members and families whose students came in close contact with the positive case before they came to school today. This morning we are notifying the teachers whose students are under quarantine as a result of their direct contact on the bus route. Remote learning will be in place shortly for those students while they complete their quarantine period. Additional information will be forthcoming to parents of quarantined students from their child’s teacher.

If you were not already contacted directly by the district, your child was not a close contact and there is no further action needed on your part.

Thank you as always for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these challenges together.
